Moving

Budapest Downtown

In a few weeks we will move to a new place within Budapest. We are leaving Buda, the green area for the busy downtown of Pest.:) This is the backyard of the new house.

Sharp contrasts

Budapest

I love when the clouds are dark but there is still some sunshine on the buildings. One of the best moments for taking photos. This church is in Buda, not far from the Tabán.

Zebras in Budapest

Budapest zebra

1,5 years ago cows were occupading the streets of Budapest. Now you can see these zebras at several places in the city. I guess this is an awareness campaign to improve the moral aspect of the Budapest traffic. Drivers usually don’t pay enough attention to walkers on the roads.

Ministry of Agryculture

Budapest

Its full name is Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The building  is monument-like block with four facades, built in eclectic style. The ground floor is surrounded by a wide archway with 6-9-6 openings, and the first floor and second floor are connected by Corinthian columns. The building was designed by Gyula Bukovics in 1885/86 and used to accommodate the Ministry of Justice in Budapest.

Red lamp

Budapest

Again a photo taken from my car. Its at the Lehel tér (Lehel square) and the church in the background is the Saint Margaret church which was 75 years old in 2008.

Nóra’s Budapest

köki

Nóra has sent a photo to me about the construction works at the KÖKI. It means Köbánya-Kispest which is a part of the city in Budapest. This building used to be a train station and also the first station of the blue Metro. I never liked this area. The building was very old fashioned and ugly…I hope that they will build here something more practical and something beautiful:)

The next quiz question will be posted tomorrow!!:)
