September 15, 2008 - Vígadó

Vígadó

The Vigadó (merry-making) is the premier venue for entertainment, built between 1859 and 1864. Designed by Frigyes Feszl it is a most outstanding work of Romanticism. Its murals and statuary decoration are also the achievements of the greatest masters of the era, Károly Lotz and Mór Than. And if you feel like you have a deja vu its not a coincidense. I have posted a photo about this building in March, now you can see a very smiliar one.

August 24, 2008 - Vígszínház

Vígszínház

Vígszínház means something like Comedy Theatre. This nice building was built in 1896. Alenka my Slovenian friend thought it was a church when she was in Budapest last time:) But no, this is not a church, this is a theatre.
