Underground

Underground

If you see this yellow pole and fence, you are at the underground. The Budapest underground is more than 100 years old and it is not as deep down as the metro.

Selective

Selective

At some point of the city you can find these containers for selective recycle. Not everywhere but hopefully one day the entire city will be more green-technology friendly.

Laundry

Patyolat

Public laundry. Not too often to see it in Budapest anymore though in the 60s it was quite common here too. Its not a self-service system there is a staff that handle your cloths and other materials. People usually bring there suits or special clothes.

Jószef Attila Művelődési Központ

Budapest - Józse Attila square

This is a Művelődési Központ (means something like cultural centre) named after my favorite poet Attila József.  Its located in Angyalföld (XIIIth district of Budapest) which is traditionally an area of the labour class.

BKV

Budapest

I guess many Hungarians (including me) know this office very well. This is the place where you can pay your fine and you can prove that you have a month card for the public transportation after you got caught by the controllers on a tramway or in the Metro.:)

St. John Hospital

Budapest

I just arrived home from Istanbul to Budapest but instead of sunny spring this rainy, wet weather was waiting for me. We went to the movies and coming back home Zannnie took this photo of the entrance of the St. Johns Hospital (Szent János Kórház) from the car.

Bus stop for ghosts

Budapest

I was playing again with my photos. This busstop is at the Margaret Bridge and I greated a ghost sign beside the original one.:)

Ministry of Agryculture

Budapest

Its full name is Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The building  is monument-like block with four facades, built in eclectic style. The ground floor is surrounded by a wide archway with 6-9-6 openings, and the first floor and second floor are connected by Corinthian columns. The building was designed by Gyula Bukovics in 1885/86 and used to accommodate the Ministry of Justice in Budapest.

Ministry of Social Affairs

Ministry of Social Affairs, Budapest

I had a meeting at the Ministry of Social Affairs in the downtown of Budapest, and while I was waiting I had the opportunity to take a photo in the hall of the building.
