Four Australian exchange students have arrived to the ELTE University. Are you able to recognise which are the Australian students and which are the Hungarian ones on the photo? Make a guess:)

Winter’s Special Protection | Mihály Vörösmarty

Winter Protection of Carrara marble statue of Mihály Vörösmarty

Downtown Pest. Here’s where the Carrara marble statue of Mihály Vörösmarty can be found. If you are a tourist visiting during this time, you see it only in this manner. Just because in Winter, this statue is protected in this ‘bubble-like’ special protective material.

Ede Kallós and architect Ede Telcs had their work made from Haraszt quarry limestone blocks. Mihály Vörösmarty is surrounded by figures representing all classes of society: worker with his wife and small son, man wearing traditional ceremonial clothes, woman with a baby in her arms, schoolboy, old peasant, farmer and peasant girl, gentlewoman and grown-up student, shepherd boy, and old woman with her grandchild. If you are curious, click here for the ‘unveiled version‘ :)

The 4th birthday of Budapestdailyphoto

Best of www.budapestdailyphoto.com

The Budapestdailyphoto blog turns to be 4 years old today. It’s been a long time and we are still on the board.:) We celebrate the birthday of the blog with a totally new template. I hope that you like it!

The photo is a repost actually. We took and posted this picture about 4 years ago and I found it pretty symbolic for today. Have a wonderful day!:)

Green Budapest

Budapest

I took this photo in the downtown of Budapest this morning. The moment with the cyclist and with the green tree represents me the hopefuly greener future of Budapest.

Playing chess

Playing chess in Budapes

A few months ago we have already posted a photo like this. People are playing chess at several public places in Budapest. You can find them in parks, in the spas and baths, or like this at railway station.
