first snow in Budapest

first snow in Budapest

The first snow has arrived to Budapest. We had a real autumn this year with “indian summer” and I hope we will have a real winter with snow and with white christmas:)

In a co-operation with the www.hungarystartshere.com site, starting from today, there will be a new Budapest Quiz. Maybe some of you still remember that last year, Meg (Nelson Daily Photo) and Jazzy (Tuzla Daily Photo) had both won a box of Szamos Marcipán each. This year, we (Zannnie and Zsolt) will offer to the winner a bottle of Tokaji Wine and the www.hungarystartshere.com portal offers one of their Hungary guide books in English.

See more details here.

The question of the 5th week is available here:

5. What is the name of the Monument at the Heroes’ Square?

A, Millenium Monument

B, Heroes’ Monument

C, The monument of the unknown soldier

We post new questions every week. It means for 7 days, we post the same question then we publish the next one. Such way you have a week to find us and to find the right answer:) If you answered this question already, you need not send it again!

Autumn colors

Budapest autumn

It seems like being out of the city. But in fact this is the Margaret Island in Budapest from Pest. In the morning I had a few seconds to stop with my car in the traffic. So I took this picture:)

Budapest autumn

You can’t be mistaken. If you see green hills around its obviously Buda. And if everything is flat…its Pest.

Budapest autumn

The best view to Budapest is obviously from the Gellért hill. Especially during the Autumn with these colorful trees. On the left side you can see the Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge over the river and the Parliament Building on the right side.

you still ask why autumn?

you still ask why autumn?

Autumn is the paradise of the colors. The best moments for photographers because you cant take bad photos, the background, the environment will serve you. I feel lucky living in a place which has four seasons.

Our guest photographer is toth_janika. A couple of days ago I posted about the Feneketlen lake which you can find in the 11th district in Budapest. He sent me this photo on Flickr to show the same place from an other angle. And I asked his permission to show it to you, too:)

Feneketlen tó (Feneketlen lake) means: a lake without bottom.  Its located to the XI. district as a green island at the crowded Bartók Béla street. The colors of autumn are wonderful, arent they?
