National Museum
The Museum, founded by Count Ferenc Széchényi in 1802, contains over a million archaeological, numismatic, historical and fine art objects, from which rich display material has been selected for the permanent exhibitions. Through them the Museum shows ‘The history of Hungary from the time of the state establishment up to 1990′, and ‘The history of the ethnic groups in the Hungarian land between 400 000 BC and 804 AD’.
