The season has started
The season of tourism has started in Budapest. American ladies walking on the Heroes’ Square giving a fashion show of sunglasses.:)

Our guest photographer is Frigo for today. They visited Budapest couple of weeks ago and as a regular visitor of www.budapestdailyphoto.com he sent me some photo he took.
His notes about the photo:
The Basilica of St Stephen is beautifull with the great square in front of the cathedral. We walked all the way to the river for ship cruise – Dinner and cruise with music. The dinner was excellent and we saw the lighted Szechenyi Chain Bridge , Parliament, churches and museums.

Sad memorial
This smile wooden statue is in fact a memorial of a very sad event. Two years ago on the 20th of August celebration at 9:00pm a huge storm has arrived over Budapest. Exactly this is the time when the firework has started and more then 1 million people watched it along the Danube Bank. Because of the heavy storm and the panic it occured, 4 people has died.

Budapest quiz

Autumn warmth
I am still mesmerized by the Autumn this year. In September we had a grey and cold period but the last two weeks were like a paradise. The colors, the gentle sunshine in the afternoon is so peaceful and inviting.

Soviet monument in Budapest
Right after the system change in 1990 they removed most of the soviet or communist monuments. Statues, sculptures, red stars, posters etc. This monument remained on the Szabadság (liberty) square. Remembering the soviet soldiers that has died during the Budapest battle in 1944. Nowdays there is a lot of tension around this monuments. Rioters tried to destroy it two years ago thats why you can see the fence around it.
