International Exotic Market

International Exotic Market

Its rather a store not a market but I found their board interesting with this mirror. Its located in the VIIth district in Budapest, a store where you can get indian, latin american, asian , african products.:)

Movie theater

Budapest

Most of the movies are located in large malls nowdays. But there are still some little traditional ones with a more friendly athmosphere. One of them is the Bem Mozi in Budapest.

Budapest Quiz

Budapest

In a co-operation with the www.hungarystartshere.com site, starting from today, there will be a new Budapest Quiz. Maybe some of you still remember that last year, Meg (Nelson Daily Photo) and Jazzy (Tuzla Daily Photo) had both won a box of Szamos Marcipán each. This year, we (Zannnie and Zsolt) will offer to the winner a bottle of Tokaji Wine and the www.hungarystartshere.com portal offers one of their Hungary guide books in English.

This quiz will last for 10 weeks from today onwards. Every week, we will post a new question, altogether 9 of them. The winner will be announced on the 30th of December 2008. The questions will be published on www.budapestdailyphoto.com and www.hungarystartshere.com. You can participate by leaving your answers in the comments of either site. Of course only one answer is accepted from one person. To sign up for the quiz all you have to do is to answer the questions in the comments box. Doesn’t matter if you miss any/some of the questions….feel free to take part there is always a chance to be the final winner!:)

(last year Meg joined a little later, but finally she was the winner of the quiz!)

We set up the questions in a way that you will find all the necessary information on www.hungarystartshere.com or on www.budapestdailyphoto.com.

Good luck! And I hope you will enjoy our 2008 Quiz!:)

By the way…for the photo today, you can see an old fashioned Master Plumber.

First question of the 2008 Budapest quiz:

1, Which is on the list of World Heritage Sites:

A, Gresham Palace

B, Andrássy Avenue

C, Váczi Street

Seeking for butcher

Hentest felveszünk

CBA is a Hungarian grocery chain. Szakképzett hentest felveszünk means “We are looking for certified butcher”. And if you look at the picture on the advertisement that butcher looks very much like an old fashioned doctor.:)

Auchan

Auchan

Auchan is a French supermarket. The funny is that nobody can prounance this word in Hungary. I always say like “ocean” but my French speaking friends said it was rather “oshaan” or something like that. I think if a company wanna be multinational better to chose a name which is easy to prounance for foreigners too.:) But on the other hand a lot of “hard” French words are already in worldwide use. Renault, Peugeot for example. So maybe I will be used to Auchan one day, too.

Mural

Mural - Budapest

This mural in fact is a commercial of the T-com which is the largest telecommunication company in Hungary. The T-group with its annoying pink color is there everywhere. T-mobile, T-cable, T-com.

A next piece of the new feature of the Andrássy Avenue. A Jud Marceau store. The other day I showed to you an elegant restaurant which is not far from this place. The new downtown.
