Last Second Day of 2011

Last Day of 2011

Counting down two days to 2012, this photo of Budapest Daily Photo is taken at the Basilica. I like the mood around this area sometimes. This is a big area and recently I found a nice new Hungarian cafe/restaurant bar that has a part of it selling Hungarian souvenirs on the other side.

Mai Mano Cafe

DSC01869

I like the colours of this cafe called ‘Mai Mano‘ which is right opposite Moulin Rouge in sixth’s district of Budapest (Nagymező Street 20). Mai Mano was the emperor’s photographer at the turn of the century. Near it is a photo exhibition hall. If you like art nouveau and arabesque motifs, you need to check the inside of this cafe.

Ambrózia | The Gift of the Nature

Ambrózia | The Gift of the Nature

This is an all in one place to find all these gifts of nature: Honey, Wine, Pálinka, Tea, Homemade Jam, Syrup. It looks so much like a gift shop targeting at tourist to buy home homemade hungarian food products. If  you are here in Budapest, you must really try the Pálinka ;)! It is one of the most ‘brutal drinks’ but it can cure the worst flu :)

Blacksmith Shop

BeyondBudapest

I was very surprised when we visited this blacksmith shop during our Beyond Budapest tour with Gyuri. This shop is in the middle of the downtown right beside the National Museum in a cellar. When I was a student I passed by here almost every day without recognising it.

Kiwisun

Kiwisun

When I have seen these KiwiSun places in Budapest for the first time I have thought that they were selling fresh kiwi juice. Which would be cool. But these places are in fact sun tanning saloons.

Cib Bank

CIB Bank - Budapest

In 2007 October I have posted about the building of Inter-Europa Bank. That was a nightshot and now I show you a daytime picture. But if you check carefully the facade you can see there is CIB now. The two banks has merged and now this beautifully renovated building on the Szabadság square belong to the CIB Bank.
