Tasting Palinka in Budapest

Budapest Photo, near Central Market Hall

In Budapest, if you want to buy the traditional fruit brandy called ‘Palinka’, you can buy it at the Central Market Hall or any grocery stores/supermarkets. You can also be served on the spot at any pubs, ruined pubs or bars. Another idea to try all different kinds of palinka at one place is at the Palinka Festival with a Day Pass costing 2000 Hungarian Forints (about 8.98 USD or 6.58 EUR). Upon admission you will get a tasting glass, drink til your hearts content from 2pm to 2am on Friday, and 12noon to 2am on Saturday. The last day of this festival is 12noon to 10pm. This year is the year of PEAR!
