Great Market Hall in Budapest

Opens until 3pm on Saturdays, this is the Central Market Hall in Budapest that is really recommended to visit. This is taken on the ground floor where you can find fresh produce, spices, candies, meats, caviar, paprika, turo rudi (cottage cheese), tokaji (the sweet dessert wine) and other spirits. If you want to get souvenirs, you can easily find a wide selection on the second floor. If you want to try the local deep-fried snack called ‘langos‘, you can try it here too. Basemet offers pickles, fish (so you can immediately expect a strong smell (fishy and vinegar-based pickled products from cucumber, cabbage, cauliflower, beets, garlic, tomatoes).
