I have a similar picture from a museum in Cluj – must be the Hungarian influence!
I was in a building such as this on Rakoczi ut near Astoria in 2008. I believe the closest translation in Canadian English would be an Apartment Building. Most people who speak english would probably call it an open-air apartment building. Thats what I always called it as that it what it reminds me of.
I live in such a house :))
