Kolosy teri sütöde

This corner has a bakery where, while we were driving to this area, we wouldn’t missed it. It is called ”Kolosy teri sutbde sütöde”. There is a turn and usually the car will have to wait a bit.

The impression of this place is deeper more because at about 400m away is where several excavated ruins with a crumbling amphitheatre (for up to 12,000 spectators) can be seen :)

p.s. Thanks olaf, the typo is corrected :)

Bikicsunáj

Bikicsunáj

In a Hungarian talent-show a man that can’t speak English at all tried to perform singing Alphaville’s Big in Japan the way he understood it.:) He has been disqualified from the show but became very popular on the internet during the last weeks. So one language school took the opportunity to advertise it’s courses with the phrase: BIKICSUNÁJ or Big in Japan.

You can see the BIKICSUNÁJ version of the Alphaville song here:

Budapest metro

The Budapesti metró is the metro system in Budapest. It is the second-oldest underground metro system in the world.

Line 1 (been around since 1896) and was declared a World Heritage Site in 2002.

There are three existing lines, namely, yellow line 1, red line 2, blue line 3. Very easy to remember since each is designated by a number and a colour.

Metro Line 4 is currently under construction.

Hungarian king

Recently, we saw the movie Robin Hood and the entire settings about those days in Nottingham was kind of consistent historically. Those little details of the dirtiness, the kind of uneven grounds, the small size of the army and at night when the rats are also celebrating on the feasting table of food etc. You can hear the sounds and smell with these little descriptions visually, even it was just a film, a movie. I wonder what kind of living conditions of the king in the 1001 in Hungary is like? All we see now that’s left is the 100 metres tall Basilica of Esztergom which is believed to be his residence.

Új Magyarország

“Új Magyarország” means New Hungary. This is the name of the national development plan that was set up to use the European Union structural funds. At every construction work that you can see almost everywhere in Budapest you will find a signboard like this informing you about the project being implemented there.
