Bálint Balassi baron of Kékkő and Gyarmat, (20 October 1554, Zólyom – 30 May 1594, Esztergom), was a Hungarian Renaissance lyric poet, who wrote mostly in Hungarian, but also in Turkish. He is the founder of modern Hungarian lyric poetry.
BKV
I guess many Hungarians (including me) know this office very well. This is the place where you can pay your fine and you can prove that you have a month card for the public transportation after you got caught by the controllers on a tramway or in the Metro.:)
Richard’s Budapest

Halloween
We do not really celebrate Halloween in Hungary. To be honest I am even not familiar with its origin. Maybe beause many expats live in this area is merchanter sells these figures in the Budagyöngye mall.

Yesterday many of you found interesting the concept of ruin-pubs in Budapest. To have a better impression I have found a photo which shows what does it look like.

Theme Day: doorways
Theme Day within the City Daily Photo Blog family. These building is in the VIth district of Budapest and will be demolished or reconstructed soon. All the doors are removed nobody lives there anymore but in the yard (from where I took the photo) a pub has been started recently.
