very interesting post and what a surprise that they run a pub in a vacant space, that would never happen here. sounds kind of fun tho.

nice ideas guys:) But in fact the place is not under (re)construction, nobody touches it. I guess the pub-owners just take the advantage of the temporary available place running a ruin-like pub in the abandoned building. Its a sort of fashion in Budapest lately, these pubs have special mood and its very popular among the local youth.

Either way, it sounds like a very interesting place to have a drink. If I ran the place, I would intentionally keep people guessing about what is going on. I'm sure many additional drinks have been purchased as speculation and discussion continued... - Mitch in Minneapolis

A pub in the yard .. they must have plans for reconstruction .. this may be a money making idea .. people can drink while they watch the construction progress. I was told that in Chicago they once placed belchers next to a construction site so those working in the area could come a watch the construction. The idea of a pub is even better .. happy theme day.

I hope they find a way to re-use the building rather than demolish it, although the first thing they need to do is get some guard rails back up on that walkway. That is scary.
