The semester has started at the Universities in Budapest. I don’t know which department hold the opening ceremony this morning but definitelly not ours since my students are mostly female.
A close up about the Chainbridge in Budapest. More photos of the bridge:
Central European University was founded in 1991 with the explicit aim of helping the process of transition from dictatorship to democracy in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and Central Asia. It was committed to bringing together students from these 30 countries and from Western democracies, and to nurturing respect for diverse cultures and opinions, human rights, constitutional government, and the rule of law. These aims – all in step with promoting the values of the Open Society – remain fundamental to CEU, but we now cast our web wider. CEU continues to attract students from Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia but almost 50% of the applicants come from other parts of the world. With candidates from 120 countries, CEU draws students from the whole of the developing world, as well as from North America and Western Europe, Turkey and Southeast Asia. Our enrolled students come from over 96 countries, our faculty from 30. (www.ceu.hu)
The Gödör Klub is still very popular in Budapest. Its right in the downtown, a perfect location for the youth to hang out. I like the atmosphere there. See our previous posts on Gödör klub:
We have started Budapest DP since three years ago. And now beside posting Budapest photos every day time to time we show how we run the site in a new “behind the scenes” chapter.:) Gadgets, hosts, cameras, applications, stats, plugins. Of course we keep focusing even in these posts you will find Budapest photos and infos.
Constantly we improve ourselves by making this blog with more interesting ways to view Budapest. It is like a ‘virtual exploration’ with photos. I was reading about the comments left on ‘About Zsolt’, and I found many thankful readers of our humble site and it was such a pleasure. Inspired by the feedback I created a page introducing some “must see” places for example the ‘Budapest Daily Photo – Panorama’ which we made with the pdf creator.
Its a cool gadget that helped us to download and edit. The good thing about the adobe pdf that it’s just a click away. You can also read it on your iPhone or in fact most of the mobile phone models with a pdf reader allows you to view pdf without compromising on the downloading online.
Panorama is just one of the 9 sights. As it is one of the most popular for visitors of Budapest, we feature it here as an example. Of course, you will be able to see some of the others from bridges, to castles which you can find in Budapest.
Next behind the scenes post will be about “wordpress”.
I guess this is one of the highest buildings in Budapest. The dormitory of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
