Romas in Hungary
Roma people experience discrimination in Hungary in almost every dimenzion of life. The situation is even worse in the country side in the eastern and norhtern part of the country far away from Budapest. I dedicate this post to support romas in Hungary. Read more in the BBC’s report.
The reconstructed Liberty bridge
The more I see the “new” Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd) the more I like it. Especially at night it is very attracive with these amazing lights.
Lost in transition
This is not a village. Its still Budapest. Rare to see this special mood of old times with a chestnut tree nowdays. This place in Hűvösvölgy is under reconstruction so soon this atmosphere will be disappearing, too.
Dödölle
They sold this dödölle in the Buda Castle last week during the three days celebration. You can see more picture and the recipe here.
Budapest Daily Photo blog is 3 years old
Today we celebrate the 3rd birthday of this Budapest Daily Photo blog. The first photo which I posted was on the 26th of August 2006. Thank you for being with us on our long journey:)
The chain bridge from a distance
If you have guests in Budapest and you want to mesmerize them just take them to the Gellért hill and show the Chain Bridge. For Hungarians a bit boring already, but I still like to see the face of our visitors when they see this view for the first time:)
Kopaszi gát
The area of the Kopaszi gát in the XIth distric is developed step by step. Couple of months ago I havent seen this “mini-port” for boats.
Graffiti
A rare moment to catch the artist making graffiti. At this wall graffiti is legal in Budapest.
International Exotic Market
Its rather a store not a market but I found their board interesting with this mirror. Its located in the VIIth district in Budapest, a store where you can get indian, latin american, asian , african products.:)
Fireworks in Budapest
This year the 20th of August fireworks were really very amazing in Budapest. And Richard was right in his comment yesterday, the event was pretty touchy when they played the national anthem in the middle of it. See more photos here.
