Dear Mary,
recently we are on our vacation in Asia so I have just very limited time to be online. As soon as we get home to Hungary I will do a search trying to help you to discover the name Singlar.
Any Hungarians reading this…do you have any idea about this name? Doesn’t sound Hungarian to me for the first sight….
It does not sound Hungarian to me but I am happy to help look into it while you are on vacation Zsolt. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of Asia.
Thanks!! Mary
Hi Mary,
I happened upon this site when I was doing a search of ancester “Helena Singlar.” Her name appears in my family tree as being born in 1750. She married Matthias Olsaviczky Feb 14, 1773 in Jászóújfalu, Hungary (now Nováčany, Slovakia). They had at least two children: Maria and Andreas. Helena and husband Matthias were both Hungarian.
