IBM – ELTE

Student testing the new IBM tools
In Hungary, university students must at least have a ‘Passed’ in English. Learning English for students with disability such as those with low vision, or visually impaired can now learn with ease with useful tools sponsored by IBM. It is quite a challenge to read but now it can be facilitated by the following different tools.

Funzine birthday

Budapest

Funzine is an English program magazine about Budapest. They have celebrated their third birthday last week with a party on the A38 ship. Since Zannnie is a registered member of Funzine we attended the party and I took this low quality shot with my iphone.

+++++ Today’s Hungarian Food Recommendation: Paprikás Csirke

Paprikás csirke, or “paprika chicken,” is where chicken is simmered in a paprika-flavored sauce until tender and sour cream is stirred into the sauce to enrich it. +++++

New Buda

Budapest

The are of the Lágymányosi bridge is called lately as New Buda in Budapest. I guess the downtown moves slowly down to the south and in a few year we will see more activities here.

Things to do in Budapest

Some people like to travel ‘like a local’. It means to see the city not like a tourist. And here, is exactly what I’d like to recommend anyone to see Budapest. Cos in my eyes, walking tour is a fantastic way to see the beauty of this city full of history and culturally very very rich. Then when you are hungary, try some of the local Hungarian food which is simply a wonderful way to experience Budapest.

+++++ Today’s Hungarian Food Recommendation: Rakott Krumpli

It is the Layered Potato Kolbasz Casserole, kolbasz is the famous Hungarian Sausage. +++++

Pet Shop in Budapest

Vadon disza'llat pet shop

From this innocent looking animal sign board at the outside of the basement shop, but try to make a guess what kind of pet shop is this?

It reads ”Vadon Díszállat kisáruház” which means ‘Wild Pet Shop’ and what they specialised in are not only fish but also reptiles, spiders; its food and equipment. For those who like ‘Wild Pets’ it is located on the Podmaniczky utca 27. By the M3 Metro, you can get there easily by stopping at the Nyugati Palyaudvar.  We’re not really a fan of wild pets, are you?:)

+++++ Today’s Hungarian Soup Recommendation: Goulash (Gulyás)

A soup which is usually made of beef, red onions, vegetables, spices and ground paprika powder. Paprika – a spice made from the grinding of dried Capsicum (bell pepper). +++++

On the Margaret Bridge Budapest (Margit hid)

Margit Hid (Margaret Bridge) BudapestWarm hues depicting the sun setting phase is lovely in Budapest over the Danube. There are so many photo opportunities in this city and even a simple river shot like this one warms my heart. What about you? Do you like warm hues of sun set in your city?
