There is a Budapest webcam. it shows the Danube you can see how high it really is. Nothing compares to 2006. I remember when I was there in June 2006, the Danube overflowed and flooded a road next to its banks. They even had sandbags in the Batthyany Square Metro station which ironically enough had water in it. I believe the flooding in 2006 was the highest it had ever been. I wonder if next year the Danube will just dry up like it did in 2003

I’m pretty sure I have a photo taken from nearly the exact same spot, but in daylight, in 1994. Wow, it’s been far too long since I’ve been to Budapest!

This was taken from Castle Hill. I took an identical picture at night in 2008. I believe it was taken near Buda Castle
