Csipp, csepp, Egy csepp, Öt csepp, Meg tíz, Olvad a jégcsap, Csepereg a víz.
This was the first Hungarian song sang for me by some American students (including Suzanne B) whom I took the Hungarian lessons together. It means
‘Csipp, drop, a drop, five drops, ten. Thaws the icicle, the water drips.’
I just feel this rhymes with the current mood and temperature in Budapest today. It is slightly warmer when the sunshines, but still cold. These are the ice which gathered over the past few days on the trees in our garden. Grounds where the sunshine could be reached are still wet due to the melting ice. Somehow I have mixed feelings about it: it means it will still be slippery for parts that have frozen ice on the ground. So got to be extra careful. While the other side of it is: it’s very beautiful blue skies even it is winter :)
