Seeking for butcher

Hentest felveszünk

CBA is a Hungarian grocery chain. Szakképzett hentest felveszünk means “We are looking for certified butcher”. And if you look at the picture on the advertisement that butcher looks very much like an old fashioned doctor.:)

Lomtalanítás

Lomtalanítás

I was walking in the IXth district around the Lónyai and Rádai streets and there was again “lomtalanítás”. A couple of days when you can put all the things you dont need anymore in front of your house and the local government will collect it.

But berore the trucks are coming a real “second hand” industry appears and they collect everything removable. Someone will make a good business with these sofas I guess.

Nordsee

Nordsee in Budapest

The first Nordsee fastfood restaurant has just opened in Budapest in the mall called Westend City Center.  Of course I tried it immediately after I took this photo. And the fish with wild rice is veryyyyyyyyyy good:)

Budapest

A typical building of the Nagykörút in the downtown. Usually these buildings were built in the XIXth Century and lately more and more are renovated.

Almost impossible to avoid them. Constructions everywhere in the city. The Liberty bridge is still closed due to the reconstrucions and they say soon the Margit Bridge will be closed, too.

János Hill

János hegy 029-1

János hill is the highest point of Budapest. The city is to the east from the hill, this part on the photo is obviously the western part:)

Harapós Kutya

Harapós kutya

This sign is very common on housegates, where they have a dog for guarding. Harapós Kutya means something like: the dog may bite you.

From my sunny storage

Budapest

Lately we have very bad weather in Budapest. Instead of a gentle indian summer we suffer from the grey November. Too early and I do not want to accept it. So I decided to post a sunny photo which was taken couple of weeks ago. Pls sunshine…come back!:)

Auchan

Auchan

Auchan is a French supermarket. The funny is that nobody can prounance this word in Hungary. I always say like “ocean” but my French speaking friends said it was rather “oshaan” or something like that. I think if a company wanna be multinational better to chose a name which is easy to prounance for foreigners too.:) But on the other hand a lot of “hard” French words are already in worldwide use. Renault, Peugeot for example. So maybe I will be used to Auchan one day, too.

First trial with iphone

first trial with iphone

To run a City Daily Photo blog you need to take photos continuosly in your city. Of course the best quaility photos are taken with a good camera. For my Budapest photo sessions I usually use my Canon 450D. When I go out to take photos I shot 100-150 pictures at once. But after a while a realized that its not the best way. I will have many photos from limited locations only and time is running very fast. If I keep posting photos from my “storage” only my site wont be real, and live. Seasons, weather the “moods” are changing quickly. But I cant have my big Canon always with me so very often I use my mobile phone for random photos.

Until now I used a NOKIA N95 which has quite a good 5mpixel camera. I wouldnt say its a good quality, but in bright lights the photos are just ok. The mobile shots are more about the moment then about the composition and deep details. I got a new iphone as mobile phone and yesterday I took my very first Budapest Daily Photo with it. I dont think that iphone will be famous of its camera but looking at this photo I think the concept will work with this new phone, too.

The photo I took at the Blaha Lujza square at the red lamp from my car. I didnt have time to compose the neighbour car is just accidentally on the photo and after I uploaded it I found the picture interesting enough to post:)

Have a nice weekend!
