In 1860, in the year when István Széchenyi has died they named one of the Buda-hills after him. Some years later Ybl Miklós has designed this lookout and it has been there since 1897.

Police evacuated thousands of people in central Budapest on Tuesday where experts prepared to defuse a huge World War Two bomb found on a construction site. The two-tonne bomb is one of the biggest found in the Hungarian capital, which was heavily bombed by the Allies during World War Two. Earlier this month another part of Budapest was evacuated after a half-tonne bomb was discovered. During the second world war the Royal Air Force and the US Air Foirce has maintained more then 36 heavy airstrike against Budapest. No wonder there are still several bombs around even 60 years after.

The Bodies Exhibition. Originally i wanted to go for it but when I heard that its not totally sure that the dead bodies were legally used..i decided not to go. They write about it the following:
“meticulously dissected real human body specimens that are preserved through an innovative process and respectfully presented, giving visitors the opportunity to view the beauty and complexity of their own organs and systems.”

The building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Or whatever…I mean they always change the name of ministries, so to me it remains the Belügyminisztérium:) The place you dont want to go. Unfriendly faces asking for papers are at the gate..and they are so supersecret and superimportant that they dont have time to smile..:) Did you know that the word ministry originally refers to serve?

In 2007 October I have posted about the building of Inter-Europa Bank. That was a nightshot and now I show you a daytime picture. But if you check carefully the facade you can see there is CIB now. The two banks has merged and now this beautifully renovated building on the Szabadság square belong to the CIB Bank.

After Lenny Kravitz, soon Paul Anka will give a concert in Budapest. And I am sure 1000 other artists and musicians but recently this was the poster interesting enough to post. Paul Anka’s smiley portrait just behind a no parking sign board in a Budapest downtown scene..:) At times the concept is in front of you!
See here more about the coming concert.
