I had to work yesterday…teachers were not on strike:)…so I couldnt take photos to report about the public transportation strike in Budapest. So I post a photo of Attila Nagy (www.index.hu). He found a tramway driver…who didn’t join the strike and worked all alone riding the tramway No. 18.
Its sunday night when I am preparing this post. They say tomorrow the whole public transportation will be stopped due to their strike. The metro station will be empty like here….My students keep writing me if I will hold my classes…but I am a superhero..I will:)

Hungary starts here blog: Somlói
The Körszálló (means something like “round hotel) is a characteristic building in Buda, not too far from the Moscow Square. To met this building represent’s the ’60s. That time it was maybe very modern, nowdays its petty retro:) You can have a room here for 70-100 Euro in this season.
We are living together with our history. The other day I went to an organisation for a presentation and entering the gate I found this bunker in the backyard. I guess they built it during the II. World War or maybe in the 50′s.
Would you live in a house like this? It looks romantic but some says this type of houses are full of insects and other animals. With this sculpture in front of the house I find the whole atmosphere controversial.

The other day I posted about a pharmacy’s interior. Now I share with you the view of that Pharmacy from outside. It in the XVth district which is not…not at all…the downtown. The house is quite old, before it was a family house.
This is a little part of the Gerbeaud House on the Vörösmarty square.
The legendary GERBEAUD, in the heart of Budapest, is one of the largest, most traditional, and most famous café-confectioneries in Europe.The café was established by Henrik Kugler in 1858 and expanded by its later owner, Emil Gerbeaud, and by 1990 was already world-famous.
For this theme day was not hard to find a photo. The river Danube gives a special character to Budapest. And at times its really blue:)
