About 80.000 people participated yesterday on the Critical Mass event in Budapest marshing for more then 2 hours in the city with bycicles. With this enourmous number of participant the Budapest Critical Mass is the world largest event among the similar initiatives. I hope its really a “critical mass” already and Budapest will be more and more “green” and liveable.

Was it a part of the Park!, a Public Art project by the British Council? With 10000 green T-shirt, bikers and Jason Hawkes, a photographer of the National Geographic crew?
I hope people can finally realize how important the war (yes, it is a war) against global warming is. People should use cars even less! We have two legs, it can’t be an accident. I love to walk and I love my city, so let’s preserve her for our children. Hey everyone, let’s get on a bike!:)
That’s a brilliant picture – you’ve totally captured the feel of the event.
I was going to say pretty much the same thing that Jackie did, only she said it better. So I’ll just add that I agree with Jackie. Wow.
Great picture! Congratulations from Chicago on getting such a huge mass. Chicago got to about 3000 last year and it got unwieldy–very slow, not much fun. How do you manage 80,000 riders?
this is impressive! thank you for sharing it
I had no idea Budapest had such a M A S S I V E critical mass following. I’ve seen critical mass a few times in San Francisco. Not sure how many participate, but the showing in Budapest is surely impressive. Great shot. Really captures the spirit of critical mass.
