The Vigadó (merry-making) is the premier venue for entertainment, built between 1859 and 1864. Designed by Frigyes Feszl it is a most outstanding work of Romanticism. Its murals and statuary decoration are also the achievements of the greatest masters of the era, Károly Lotz and Mór Than.

This is truly a beautiful place, amazing architecture. Nice shot.
Hi Zsolt, sorry for having been absent for a while. Anyhow, still arrived just on time to see some great pictures.
Let’s start with the beautiful «Drama» at sunset, I presume. Great shot! Only to be beaten by the stunning Fejo’s picture. Sorry, but this one is unbeatable!!! The synagogue remembered my post with its pics, but yours were not taken at street level, it seems… The Hussars look great and the view of the Gellert statue is unique, like your today’s anti-spam word. Where did you take it from; Erzsebét? Finally Vigadó. It’s amazing, but don’t remember I had ever heard about it…
Wish you a great week. Should you wish to take a break, Greek Islands wait for you at Blogtrotter… ;))
OOohhhh…love the reflections in the blue windows.
