When I took this photo for the first sight I found the trees disturbing on it. Now I find them rather amazing so I decided to post. And before you ask…no I haven’t climbed the tree!:)

Again a photo from Óbuda. This old cute houses there are my favorite in the IIIrd district. Laktanya means military camp so it seems in the area there was a headquater or a camp time ago. Maybe in the Zichy castle.:)

This underpass is at the Ferencziek tere. On the walls old photos are exhibited showing the old Budapest on one site and the modern one on the other side. I like these old photos a lot…though I am not crossing this underpass too often:)

There are still some places in Budapest where you can see the signs of the previous wars. For example this building in the Buda Castle. But the good news…spring is coming:)

Like a year ago …or two…the stadium (turf) for horse races was located here. Now its a mall. Its not like I am a big fan of horse races but an entire culture has disappeared here and got replaced with an other one. In the background you can see the Eastern Railway Station.

Houses like this are very common among the hills of Buda. Before the II. World War they belonged to one family only but after war they devided them into 3-4-5 apartments. Since during the war a lot of buildings has collapsed or seriouly damaged authorities managed like this to solve housing problems. After 1949 the original owners usually didn’t get back their villas, the communist ideology was against private properties.
