This statue is at the Fisherman Bastion on the hill near to the Buda Castle. I like these kind of old statues I always try to imagine people living in the middle ages. I just finished a book about Mátyás King. That time (around the 1480′s) altogether 2.000 people live in Buda only. And now 2 millions.:)

wouldnt want to meet with him in a dark alley! scary! lol
Great photo. Its always interesting to stare into the face of someone from so long ago. I wonder if he had a family… Was he kind or mean? Intelligent?
Hope you are having a great holiday season!
Great picture of another time. The Middle Ages is an interesting period of time to study, but I’m glad I wasn’t alive in that time.
The anti-spam word is dramatic. That’s what this statue is dramatic. As others have said I wonder about him and the way he lived. Great shot Zsolt.
I love this shot.
Beautiful!

I had hoped to visit friends in Budapest in November but it didn’t work out. Your pictures are a wonderful way to almost visit. Thank you. Lynne

Lynne…you are more then welcome to Budapest, next time don’t miss the opportunity:) To be honest November is not the best season, but if you like foggy scenes it has a charm, too!
This is a statue of a very imposing figure. I like the rust tones.
