Fashion of socialism

There is an interesting exhibition in the Budapest History Museum about the fashion of socialism. They write on their website:

“Our exhibition looks back upon the four decades of state controlled fashion, the years from the fifties to the end of the eighties.”

More info on the exhibition you can read here.

  1. Socialist realist fashion?
You’re pretty active with all those blogs. Kyrgystan, Bali, Budapest…
Have a restful weekend; but if you’re in the mood, I’ve Amsterdam for you at Blogtrotter.
    Enjoy!

  2. That must be interesting to see how women coped with socialism. My mother is still my fashion guru, she managed to have outstanding outfits, and smuggled Levi’s jeans :).
