Silent Cemetery

Cemetery

In the city the first snow disappeared very soon, but out of Budapest you could see the early “white dress” everywhere. This weekend I visited the grave of my Grandma and I have found this silent, white athmosphere there!

New style

Budapest

This style is very common in Budapest lately for new office buildings or malls. This one is actually a complex in the XIIIth district in Pest. Not completted totally but some offices are working already. I spent time in one of them and I took this photo from the window:)

Out of Budapest

Out of Budapest

I cant post grey photos every day:) This photo was taken a few days ago. Actually I cant decide if these houses are the last one of Budapest or the first one of the neighbour’s village but the atmosphere of the place was special with this “wet” sunshine.:)

When it comes to November

Rain in Budapest

First it turns into yellow. Then darker yellow followed by brown. Very brown and grey. And rainy…wet, cold windy and grey. Foggy. And did I meantion grey? The morning is heavy..and the evening is early. Leaves try to be strong…but the first 2-3 snow will take them away. Bald black trees will be here until the next spring.

Night lights

Erzsébet tér

This photo is just a quick shot with my mobile phone camera at the Erzsébet square. I just found the lights very amazing and somehow extraordinary shiny there. I took this photo and the very strong streetlight made it even more shiny. So I decided to post. The winter is really close. The photo was taken around 6:30pm. And already all darkness. Actually at 4:00pm starts to be dark nowdays. I can imagine how it may be in Sweden or Norway.:)

Among the hills

Nagy Kevély

Few days ago on this picture you could see the Nagy-Kevély. After you climb the hill the panoramic view makes you forget how hard it was to climb up.:) Disappearing somewhere behind the blue air you can see Budapest. Maybe better to try in the larger version:)

Remiz Café

Remiz étterem

“Far from the din of the city, on Budakeszi út, on the site of a neglected espresso bar for young people and next to where the trams rest at night, is one of Budapest’s best-known restaurants.”

This restaurant really looks funny and quite famous. Its in Buda, pretty far from the downtown but in a very nice green area. You can read about Remiz here.

The first snow in Budapest

First snow in Budapest

Wow!!..the first snow arrived to Budapest:) Its a big deal because last winter we didnt have snow at all, so actually we didnt have winter, and for this year it seems it was so impatient that it has arrived in the middle of November.

Ok its not sure if it will remain, but today we had real, thick snow.:)

More photos you can see here.

Új Sipos Halászkert

Óbuda

Several times friends from other countries ask me, where they can find a real Hungarian restaurant. Well, one of them is definitelly the new Sipos Halászkert in Óbuda. Fishsoup is their speciality and basically everything from fish. Website developing is not their speciality (www.ujsipos.hu), but it doesnt matter I recommend them for their food not for their website:)

Nagy-Kevély

Linda

There are several places in the neighbourhood of Budapest which are perfect for an excursion. Just a short walk from Csillaghegy or 10 minutes with the bus No 18 and you find yourself at the 500 meters high Nagy-Kevély. Ok not in the middle of the corn-field like Linda did on the picture:) This place is pretty close to Pilisvörösvár, so I am sure we will see it one day on the Pilisvörösvár DP.:)

Welcome home nostalgic feel

Óbuda

“I like the view from where you are standing.. gives a very “welcome home” nostalgic feel :) Very nice once :)”

I have got this comment on the Flickr to this photo. To me the Fő tér in Óbuda brings the athmosphere of the books of Gyula Krúdy. The late XIXth Century with carriages and with ladies with umbrellas:)
