Weak sun

Kopaszi gát

In October the sun is still fighting. This photo was taken around sunset at the Kopaszi Gát and I just liked how the light tried to “heat up” the wooden building. It didnt work…so we didnt need to use the fire-plug which you can see at the corner of the “hut”. By the way these buildings are empty yet, they say soon restaurants, bufets, and exhibitions will be there.

ps: I know that some of you tagged me…and I promise I will create my answers very soon:)

Beside the Opera

Opera

This nice building is right beside the Opera House. I took this photo in an early morning when the sun was playing on the wall:) Those who live in these apartments have a great morning light in their room!

OORI

OORI

This quite new building is the OORI (Országos Orvosi Rehabilitációs Intézet). An institution for medical rehabilitation in the northern-western corner of Budapest in a very nice green area. The place looks like a modern wellness-center now, and this feature is hopefully an example Hungarian hospitals are going to follow soon. The English word hospital is very close to the hospitality…

When it comes to hospitality I think of a friendly, gentle environment. Do you feel in your country’s hospitals any hospitality?

Hungary starts here

Budapest

The Budapest DP is just a bit more then 1 year old and a something very good happened to me thank to this community:) Couple of weeks ago I got an e-mail from the Editor of a Hungarian touristic portal. Due to the success of Budapest Daily photo they would like to ask me to work for them, on the English edition of their website. When I went to the Editorial office it was really a strange experience to sit there and to talk while our Budapest DP was running on their laptop in the room.

My task is to make the portal more interactive so as a first step I established a blog related to their website calles Hungary Starts Here blog. Its a real challenge to me…but now I feel very honoured to get this opportunity.:) And thank you all for the lot of support and help to make our Budapest DP successful!!!

Anna’s Budapest

Fishermen's Bastion (Halászbástya), Budapest

Our guest for this week is Anna.

The Fishermen’s Bastion is one of the most popular spots of the Castle District
It is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style situated on the Buda bank of the Danube, on the Castle hill in Budapest, around Matthias Church. It was designed and built between 1895 and 1902 on the plans of Frigyes Schulek. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896.

Here’s how to ‘Be our Guest Photographer‘:

On the Flickr, we have opened a group called Budapest Award Group where everyone can add his/her Budapest photos and thus everyone is free to the awarding of the ‘Budapest Award’ to any photos in the group. Hence, every week the most popular photo will be invited to be featured on the Budapest DP.

Millenáris Park

Millenáris

Ok, maybe yesterday I was too secretive. The place where this great reflection was found is the Millenáris – Jövő Háza (House of the Future). In the picture, the buildings which belong to the Millenáris are behind me:) I post this only because of the reflection again. But if you wanna know more about this relatively new cultural center with more photos just visit my Budapest Guide site.

Reflection

Reflection

I do not tell where was this photo taken:) My Hungarian visitors maybe will find out! And maybe tomorrow I will tell the secret. For today its enough to enjoy the special effect of reflection.

waiting..

Crowded:)

There were really special lights two days ago at Andrew Feldmar’s presentation in the Gödör Club. Some says it was too dark..I found it rather special. I took this photo before the event and I loved the way the iron chairs were shining!

Inter-Európa Bank

Inter-Európa Bank

I have a superbusy week so the Budapest Daily Photo is not as active in the DP Community as usually. But I do not forget you and two days ago when I went out to a dinner I brought my cam and I took some evening shots in the downtown.

This is the nicely renovated building of the Inter-Európa Bank. Have a nice week!:)

Andrew Feldmar in Budapest

Andrew Feldmar

Last night we went to the presentation of Andrew Feldmar. As always, it was very inspiring to me. Andrew and me are working on a new project in Budapest called ‘Lotus’, which is going to be a sheltered house for people with mental health problems. We would like to establish a gentle community which is rather a small place but more friendly than those mental health hospitals all over the world.

You may know Andrew Feldmar from his scandal with the US borderguards. Or from the Stephen Colbert show, but to me as one of his disciples he means so much more than that annoying story.
