Anna’s Budapest

Fishermen's Bastion (Halászbástya), Budapest

Our guest for this week is Anna.

The Fishermen’s Bastion is one of the most popular spots of the Castle District
It is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style situated on the Buda bank of the Danube, on the Castle hill in Budapest, around Matthias Church. It was designed and built between 1895 and 1902 on the plans of Frigyes Schulek. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896.

Here’s how to ‘Be our Guest Photographer‘:

On the Flickr, we have opened a group called Budapest Award Group where everyone can add his/her Budapest photos and thus everyone is free to the awarding of the ‘Budapest Award’ to any photos in the group. Hence, every week the most popular photo will be invited to be featured on the Budapest DP.

  1. The light works vey well with this stunning castle, I like to see these night time pictures of buildings, more and more are being lit this way over here in the UK.

  2. This is really such a lovely shot. The coloring and light play is perfect!

Hope things are good there with you and Zannie!
