Zannnie fell asleep.:) So for today, I will post again, reporting about our National Holiday on the 20th of August. Actually we went to one of the events. It was at the swearing-in ceremony of the new officers on the Heroes’ Square. Spite of the fact that I am from a family where almost everyone is/was a soldier and I also studied at the military academy…I am not too much into Militarism.
But this marching event with the uniforms, with the live trumpets and drums, with the shining buttons and colorful flags was really amazing.:)
More photos and a video captured by Zannnie which you can see here.

Judging from this photo and the others captured by Zannie shown on the link, the ceremony must have been very impressive!! The uniforms and the formation are very military, as you mentioned. You two did a great job of capturing the occasion.
Awesome country, awesome people, awesome celebration, craziest pilots, great looking dudes… er… soldiers! :D
Those videos are something else, really. Thanks for sharing. I’m sure you had a wonderful time. Long live Hungary.
Events like this are thrilling, if you connect it to love of your own country and not aggression of hubris (we Americans have some experience with that). Hurray for Hungary on its National Day!

Um, that should have been “aggression or hubris.” My typing is terrible. Sorry.
Excellent video and the pictures really tell a story. Nice pictures too. Happy National Holiday.
Good shot – and good national day, even if you think it’s a little bit to much militarian.
I think it’s a little bit the same thing every where in the world for this kind of day.
hmmmm those are some gorgeous military men.
on dirait une releve de la garde, belle photo et bonne fete
one would say a statement of the guard, beautiful photo and happy spend
Very strong statement. I like your photo.
Zsolt and Zannie:
As a retired career military man, I truly enjoyed the photos and video of the parade. The precision of the marchers was excellent, and the entire ceremony brought back nice memories of long ago.
Thanks to you both for an excellent website!
