I wrote about Day One experience to the Sziget Festival. Today we went again by HEV (a hybrid of train and subway) but it rained at about 10pm. It is forbidden to bring umbrella, even if you know it will be raining. This is something strange to me :) Since we were near a beverage booth that distributes free hvg printed plastic sheet, we went to ‘collect’ one each for ourselves too. The strange design about it is that it comes with a slit in the middle (a rectangular transparent piece of plastic for you to put over your shoulders so that your head protrudes out?) Again it’s strange because we thought it is supposed to prevent us from getting drenched. But this ‘design’ means we will definitely get wet at least our face, head and hair.

I went to the similar music festival in the end of last month and it was totally lots of fun indeed. I also took a photo of my three-day wrist band.;) I should post those pics soon though. Btw, your band looks rather gold on my monitor. Have a nice weekend!
Hi (from Moldova now!). I think the forbidding of umbrellas is probably a health and safety thing – with that many people in a field watching the bands, you could possibly have a lot of injuries, especially to the eyes if the person in front is dancing around whilst carrying their umbrella! Plus, if I was at a concert I think that however bad the weather was I’d sooner be able to see the band on the stage than just the umbrella of the person in front of me!

Interesting post. I read it twice and think the umbrella thing might also be somehow related to terrorists. Or terrorism.
The clear plastic sheets are also used here and most people carry something like that is pocket or purse in case it rains but we also carry an imbrella.
