Champions

BEST of budapestdailyphoto.com

The Hungarian water polo team is one of the best in the world. On Saturday, they won again…Hungary-Croatia 15:6 (a short clip for you to have a little feel of the ‘live’ atmosphere;). This year’s water polo world cup was held in Budapest on the Margaret Island. It was enjoyable for us to see the Hungarian Champions. Was it so for you too ? :)

Váci utca (Váci street) is a famous tourist streets in Budapest. So you can see the various fashion outlets, restaurants and lots of small stores selling Hungarian traditional decorations as little tokens to bring home for close friends and relatives. While walking along this street, this gate fascinated me quite a fair bit, perhaps it’s because of the artistic design on these black iron grilles for this ‘Vaci ut. 36′ :)

Erzsébet bridge

erzsébet híd

At times we look like a special force team with Zannnie in the city. Around sunset when we have time and we are in the mood, we organize “missions”.:) She is the archer…since the little bag of the tripod can be across her back and I am the shooter with the Canon. We choose the location, set up the tripod creating a little camp around with all our bags and gadgets. And the result of the “mission” you can see here on the Budapest DP:) A friday evening on the Elisabeth (Erzsébet) Bridge. Have a nice weekend!

Ady's

I saw this with clues only ”Ady – 1877-1919”, then I found out later that he was a (1877-1919) Hungarian writer. Endre Ady is best-known for his love poems. In 1903, he published his first significant volume of poetry, Még egyszer. He wrote some 1,000 poems and published 10 volumes of poetry in 12 years.

Who is your favourite poet?:) or poems?

guarantee

we will give your old body back

The Gold’s Gym is on the top level of the mall called Mammut in Budapest. They guarantee the result otherwise you will get back your old body! And it works…since I stopped to visit gyms I got back my old body:) Maybe Gold’s Gym is going to change this!

Habeebee’s Budapest

He sped home, that night - aloneOur guest for this week is Habeebee

Every winter, the City Park Pond in Budapest is turned into the largest ice skating rink in Central Europe. With a monumental hall on one side and the faux-ancient Vajdahunyad Castle on the other, it’s a pretty magical place, whether it’s light or dark. It’s even magical if it is raining, and you really just want to be home, and you’re feeling a little estranged, and you’re pushing your bicycle pedals with a modicum of agression, or perhaps release. If it’s not the lights that catch you, regardless, it may be the shadows..” – Joost (aka habeebee)
