Habeebee’s Budapest

He sped home, that night - alone
Our guest for this week is Habeebee

Every winter, the City Park Pond in Budapest is turned into the largest ice skating rink in Central Europe. With a monumental hall on one side and the faux-ancient Vajdahunyad Castle on the other, it’s a pretty magical place, whether it’s light or dark. It’s even magical if it is raining, and you really just want to be home, and you’re feeling a little estranged, and you’re pushing your bicycle pedals with a modicum of agression, or perhaps release. If it’s not the lights that catch you, regardless, it may be the shadows..” – Joost (aka habeebee)

Here’s how to ‘Be our Guest Photographer‘:

On the Flickr, we have opened a group called Budapest Award Group where everyone can add his/her Budapest photos and thus everyone is free to the awarding of the ‘Budapest Award’ to any photos in the group. Hence, every week the most popular photo will be invited to be featured on the Budapest DP.

  1. Oooh, what haunting and beautiful photograph. The fence almost looks like it’s made up of skulls.
