You could see the Szabadság (freedom) Bridge several times on my site. Now I will show it like a “journalist” reporting about an event in the city! They are going to close the bridge soon for several months and I want to show the ‘Before’…’Meanwhile’…and the ‘After’ versions. This is the meanwhile:)
For this week our special guest is Marikp1018 with a wonderful photo. He took it at the Airport of Budapest called Ferihegy. I invited this photo because of the dramatic blue sky and because of the freedom open space give you.

Two days ago, I promised to post a sharper version of the bridges. Its still not the best (I didnt have my tripod with me) but better than the speed skaters before yesterday:) The first bridge is the Elizabeth (Erzsébet) bridge and in the background you can see the Chainbridge (Lánchíd). And if you have forgotten what the Chainbridge looks like you can check it
This nice church is in the VIIIth district, standing alone among the old buildings. Its partly under reconstruction and the net is there to prevent the sculpture or other elements from falling down.
Ok its totally blur. That’s why I posted it. Can you see those little hunching men crossing the bridge or just like Jesus did walking on the water? All of them goes from Buda to Pest. Some are blue or red…and who knows what do they want to do there ;)
Okay..don’t look at it for long. It is too irritating for your eyes :) I promise I will show some sharper version soon.
It was hard to decide which photo to post on the Theme Day. So now I post the other one about the fiew from my window. The orchid is actually inside right behind the balcony door, and the rose is outside where the garden starts. My little oasis:)
Its season is in June here. Its a mistake to eat it before June…At least Hamvas Béla thinks so. He says we have to eat it in June with powdered sugar and with sour cream. Not with whipped cream its a mistake again. First the strawberry, then the powdered sugar and then you put to its top the sour cream after your taste. By the time the cream will solubilize the sugar and its going to be mixed up with the juice of the strawberry. After you ate it a pink juice will be left in the pot (never an iron one!) which you can just drink at is it. He awares us to put it to the fridge. A cool cellar or down to the well is the right place to cool the strawberry at the hot noon time leaving it there until three or half-past three when the air starts to be less hot. You put it to the terrasse and under the nut-tree you eat it slowly with your spoon.
I cant be as poetic with my poor English as Hamvas Béla in his book “Patmosz” but with this strawberry I wanna say an early hello to the slowly arriving summer.
Every morning when I wake up, I can see this garden outside. And behind the greens is the first floor of the neighbouring building. In a sunny morning my room is filled with light since my window faces to the east. This area which I am living right now is not the best in Budapest, but because of this garden I have been renting this place for almost three years.
