Being a DP member means you must always have an eye on your city. Its a real dilemma. Bringing always your good quality camera with you is a trouble. It’s heavy, it’s sensitive and at times not convenient to look like a tourist in your own city:) But on the other hand missing something unique or interesting is such a frustration when you started to observe your city beside living in it. That’s what I experienced yesterday. Around 8.00 pm we drove home while it was a just a light shower in the city. That 5 minutes type. Right after the rain, the sun appeared again with its weak “sunset” style creating a special golden image on the buildings around and a huge beautiful rainbow over the city. And it was a pity my Canon was not with me :( This photo I took with my NOKIA…maybe a little you can catch from the mood. Have a nice weekend!
update: I just finished to edit the short video that Zannnie has captured about the rainbow trip:)

Wonderfully delightful!
A truly spectacular mood!. Good eye.
This is simply a beautiful image. You are right -a shaft of sunlight breaking through just after rain is some of the most dramatic light we ever see. I’m so glad you take the trouble to carry your camera with you.
Its striking indeed:) I missed the similar scene yesterday in Riga:(
Still beautiful, the nokia did a good job of capturing the scene.
What a beautiful shot of your city. Fantastic image.
Amazing colours! Great photo! Have a wonderful weekend!
What an amazing shot! I can’t wait to get out my camera when I get there. have a great weekend!
magnifique, une photo de reve, bravo. je vous souhaite un bon weekend
splendid, a photograph of dream, cheer. I wish you a good weekend
Oh, what a stunning shot, sight and light, so never mind that your super camera wasn’t with you.
You are right, we looks like a tourist with the camera in own city, thus my collage named me “Nóra the Japanese tourist” :)
Great picture. Lucky to be there at this time. That’s the point, I guess.
Since I’m member of DP community, I decide to get my camera always with me. It is a compact, but I bought a new bag for it.
Szép! Mi is lefotóztuk a Gellért-hegyről, a kereszt mellől, ahogy a szivárvány vége a szabihíd két sasmadara között ért földet. Állati jól nézett ki, amikor földtől-földig ért. :)
Zsolt,
having been in many places, as you say, I must confess this is a great shot, anywhere!!!
Stunning! I’ve seen (and posted) a rainbow oner the Grand Canyon, but never caught something so beautiful over a city…
Thanks for your voisits and comments to Blogtrotter!
A really great shot – the Nokia did a good job – I like the light on that cloud formation.
Nothing wrong with the Nokia shot. I love the way the sun falls on the city and the bright patch in the darker sky.
Blogging really does give us new eyes to the world around us.
Very beautiful photograph….it is indeed in dilemma to take its camera all the time… but that was a good oportunity to take it. Cheer
Embrulho-me em dez dedos para conhecer a tua cidade.
Vira Vento.
I just commented on this shot in a different spot on your blog! =] I love it with the hyper coloring too! It must have been awesome to see in real life!
Wish I was there!
