Couple of months ago I posted about a manhole in Budapest. Usually we even dont recognise them…though if you observe carefully you can find very interesting things under your feet. Oh yes..that is my feet and my sandal:)
This Manhole is a memorial for the Millenium, and was built by the Local Government of Kőbánya in 2000.

The security word I have to type is “striking” and this photo sure is just that! STRIKING!
I like that idea of a manhole and seeing your sandal gives us the idea of how large it is!
We have a “guest photographer” in the Guelph blog today. Hope you welcome him and his lovely photo!

Amazing colors ( patina?) to the manhole & the stones. Really a nice shot.
You seem to be missing a toe.
on dirait un immense bouclier des temps modernes, superbe photo
one would say an immense shield of modern times, superb photo
:)) funny photo! the toes add to it!
WOW! What a work of art, it looks like a giant coin! My eyes will be on the pavement next time I’m in town but I don’t think we have any as grand here…
Paul..i just counted..I have five toes:) But one is shy and hiding on the photo!
It’s what a funny and cool picture with your toes. :)
I’ve never discovered yet, how beautiful are the manholes, but I remember that Feri (a friend of mine from Veszprém) always said me: “ Nóra be careful! Never step on the manhole covers, because it’s dangerous. “ and he continued his “speech” with his horror stories about the manhole accidents.
So I’m forwarding Feri’s message: “just take a photo about manhole, but never step on!”
that’s a manhole?
it’s so beautiful!
i would have thought it is some memorial plague!
Wow! Your manhole covers are much fancier that the ones in the U.S. :)
hehe–nice toes! I think it was Ming the Merciless in NYC who posted a similar photo of a manhole cover in NYC a few weeks ago. Everyone comented on his shoes!
