Sisi, the most loved Queen of Hungary. She has a great place sitting under the trees escaping from the heat. Have a nice weekend!

Being a DP member means you must always have an eye on your city. Its a real dilemma. Bringing always your good quality camera with you is a trouble. It’s heavy, it’s sensitive and at times not convenient to look like a tourist in your own city:) But on the other hand missing something unique or interesting is such a frustration when you started to observe your city beside living in it. That’s what I experienced yesterday. Around 8.00 pm we drove home while it was a just a light shower in the city. That 5 minutes type. Right after the rain, the sun appeared again with its weak “sunset” style creating a special golden image on the buildings around and a huge beautiful rainbow over the city. And it was a pity my Canon was not with me :( This photo I took with my NOKIA…maybe a little you can catch from the mood. Have a nice weekend!
update: I just finished to edit the short video that Zannnie has captured about the rainbow trip:)

These are the iron grille pattern works on the gates in front of the Vásárcsarnok. It is the Central Market in walking distance from the Freedom Bridge (the green bridge). Have a look inside, perhaps you’ll find something you’ll like also…
I like the grille patterns very much, usually I will see them in different and unique styles when I passed-by any architecture that includes them as a kind of art or design to the facade. They are usually black in colour…

For this week, we have invited Gabó as guest photographer for the Budapest Daily photo site. From now on, we are introducing a new system for guest photos. On the Flickr, we have opened a group called Budapest Award Group where everyone can add his/her Budapest photos and thus everyone is free to the awarding of the ‘Budapest Award’ to any photos in the group. Hence, every week the most popular photo will be invited to be featured on the Budapest DP. For today, you can enjoy Gabó’s picture.
Being my regular visitor(s), you maybe able to recognise that amongst the previous guests’ photos, you’ll find a very similar shot to this one!:)

This is one of my personal favourite. Becos of the many details. Becos of its aged look. And most of all, as my title described, becos of their ‘V’ shaped figures (see large view here ;)) . Last winter I remembered I posted another of this strong men who were outside the Town Hall. And now I am still curious : Do you know why majority of men like women with a figure of ‘8′ while women like men with figure of ‘V’ ? Any ideas?:)

Every country has its own special design for the traffic green lights of pedestrian crossings. We have this funny walking man. Sorry for the quality of the photo..it was taken by my mobilephone :)

Now this is the second in the series of funny names for a restaurant. This is the ‘Fatál’ Restaurant and in Hungarian ‘fatál’ means ‘wooden plate’. This name may not work very well in Singapore unless the food is superb and by word of mouth people tell another or there were always long queues day after day or on all weekends. In such casees, people will then not mind and thus disregard the name’s meaning about fatality (since fatal in english means causing or capable of causing death; deadly).
So this also tells us the power of words, the power of language.
But look at this advertisement that they have:
It shows an angel pouring some beverage for you to your glass. What are your views?:) Expect nothing from them other than an ”angelic service”?

In the last days you could see several sunset photos on the Budapest DP so now I decided to provide something blue:) This is the facade of the ELTE University’s building on a sunny weekend when the sky is mirroring in the windows.

This photo series is about naming of clubs or pubs or restaurants. I found some funny ones to share here. Here’s the first: Panic Pub. Perhaps they play music that makes you more panicky or perhaps this is for people who are always ‘panic’ ;) or wants to get some ‘panic’ feelings in their boredom or overly calm lives. Whichever it is, this photo is best view in large . Having captured this, I wonder how you get yourself ‘panic’?:) just curious…
