MALÉV is the Hungarian Airlines (it has actually been bought by Russians). This is usually the sight which you can get to see when you first arrive in Budapest by airplane. Just as Zannnie did yesterday morning:)
Have a nice Sunday!!
I really think this building looks very wonderful at night. Because of the lightings. In Budapest, the lighting engineers are always so clever in making architectures like this one, totally mersmerizing in the evenings/night. See this link and you will agree with me ;)
Tomorrow I will be back to Budapest. Hence while you are reading this, I am already on my way … flying from Singapore to London-Heathrow, to Budapest. See you soon! :)
For this week my special guest is Gosia with her wonderful photo. I highly recommend you to visit her Flickr photostream. Its really worth it!
Beautiful hidden place. made through the little hole in the gate. Budapest.
To be honest I like that photo the most as compared to all the photos I have personally taken in Hungary.
Have a look at my previous guest-photos:
This photo is the symbol of Budapest to me, in a way. It’s in the VIIIth district, in Józsefváros, the Mikszáth Kálmán Square. As you can see on this photo, the renovated buildings are standing beside the old gray houses, depicting this city is in the process to get a new face. And this image Mikszáth Square shows me lately is hopefully the future of Budapest. A live-able city with cute corners, with outside cafés and narrow streets around. I wouldn’t say that Budapest is like this already…but I hope this is the way…
Szeretem a Mikszáth teret.
The next evening shot from my Danube excursion – Right after Sunset. This time you can’t see the Chain Bridge because I am actually standing on it. So this is the view from it overlooking Pest. The large building is the Hungarian Scientific Academy and in the background you can see the roof of the Parliament Building. What I like most in our downtown along the Danube are these lights which makes everything so warm. Maybe its just my feeling since I am born here…but it gives me the feeling of home.
If you are not bored yet, here is a next photo of the Chain Bridge. You can see some details and with a little fantasy as you can cross it with me in the cool spring, feeling the fresh air of the river. Look at the flags…the wind was not too strong and you can survive with a light pullover. This photo was not composed. It wasn’t like I tried to listen to the angle or the background and the frames. But it was just a moment and looking at it, I’d like to take an “excursion” in the little details:)
I spotted these Begonias in Budapest and I simply love its cheerful colours. After it arrived home, when I first found out that it needs a well-drained growing soil that is neither constantly wet nor allowed to dry out completely, I got a little worried that I might not be able ‘handle it’. However, during this period, Zsolt took care of it really well ;) You can see the result…as now they look like this !
At one point, (as it was winter) it stopped flowering and I got worried. But now I am really glad to see that they looked sooo beautiful…These are flowers from Zsolt, I really love them!
