For this week our special guest is Molamoni with her wonderful photo. She took it in the City Park close at the Vajdahunyad vára. I love that she could catch this calm, peaceful moment. Its a bit like the time has stopped, the little artificial lake is like a mirror.

We celebrate today children’s day in Hungary. So I post now this photo about my two little nieces, Anna and Eszter, while they had enjoyed themselves in the Budapest Zoo:) A moment of being surprised!:)

I totally agree with Isabella and Abraham Lincoln about the prisoned animals. Only very few animals can be happy in a Zoo, maybe those which needed limited territories. Especially the large animals are totally unhappy there. For the kids, it is real fun but maybe they would also be satisfied in a huge safari park. Some more photos you can see here.

This is one of the last moments which I could take a photo of this building, showing it as the largest Psychiatric Institution of Hungary. It was established in 1868 as the first Asylum for people with mental health problems. Just like any other large institutions, it functioned as a huge “industry” officially until the 1st of April in 2007. They have decided to close it. However it was still open yesterday when I simply walked in and I took some photos saying good bye, hopefully to an era…and to an attitude also.
In a way I am glad that those large institutions for disabled or for people with mental health problems are going to be closed in Hungary. But on the other hand, I am afraid that there are still very few community based services for them, supporting the independent living for those who are probably a little more vulnerable in a way or other.
I guess the building will be an exclusive hotel in the future…but nobody knows about it yet. I will surely post about it!
You can see more photos of the Lipót here!
