For this week our special guest is Molamoni with her wonderful photo. She took it in the City Park close at the Vajdahunyad vára. I love that she could catch this calm, peaceful moment. Its a bit like the time has stopped, the little artificial lake is like a mirror.

In the Budapest Zoo
I totally agree with Isabella and Abraham Lincoln about the prisoned animals. Only very few animals can be happy in a Zoo, maybe those which needed limited territories. Especially the large animals are totally unhappy there. For the kids, it is real fun but maybe they would also be satisfied in a huge safari park. Some more photos you can see here.

Spring Stroll :)
We had a nice stroll within this vicinity, making a little photography excursion. The weather is very nice now in Budapest, dry air as compared to the humid air in Singapore, the warm sunshine though it was at 28 deg C is so different as you will experience less perspiration. In the shade, it is even cool.
Now that I am back, you gonna see some of the photos and posts by me, Zannnie.
Psychiatric Instituion- Lipótmező
This is one of the last moments which I could take a photo of this building, showing it as the largest Psychiatric Institution of Hungary. It was established in 1868 as the first Asylum for people with mental health problems. Just like any other large institutions, it functioned as a huge “industry” officially until the 1st of April in 2007. They have decided to close it. However it was still open yesterday when I simply walked in and I took some photos saying good bye, hopefully to an era…and to an attitude also.
In a way I am glad that those large institutions for disabled or for people with mental health problems are going to be closed in Hungary. But on the other hand, I am afraid that there are still very few community based services for them, supporting the independent living for those who are probably a little more vulnerable in a way or other.
I guess the building will be an exclusive hotel in the future…but nobody knows about it yet. I will surely post about it!
You can see more photos of the Lipót here!
Lets take a pic
Feri’s Budapest
For this week my special guest is Feri with his cute photo.
I took this photo at the parking place of the US Embassy in Budapest. The embassy has a very safe parking place, with strong fence, so it is a paradise for cats. No dog can go close…
People living and working there doesn’t like the embassy, since they have blocked two roads and a part of Szabadság tér, so you have to take a long way around to get through. They also placed big iron columns around very densely to stop any attack (tanks? :)
But this cat doesn’t care with all this, just enjoys the still-warm car and the food he gets from the people living nearby.
The building that reflects in the car is very nice secessic building, used to be the Postatakarékpénztár (Post Bank) in the end of the 19th century. Today it used by the Hungarian Public Treasury.
