bye-bye winter

Budapest Panorama

I mean bye-bye winter 2005.:) since this year we didnt have winter at all. Actually I posted this photo before but it was a smaller, bad quality version and now I found the original one. It was taken last year and I thought it was a nice photo to close my “from the hill” series and at the same time saying bye officially to this warm winter and at the same time saying hi to the coming spring.:)

Women’s Day

IMG_2475I’ve received a wonderful greeting this morning, a very warm greeting that’s wishing me ‘Happy Women’s Day! in Budapest‘ I wonder if you agree with me, as I found this photo appropriate for this day. This sculpture with a womanly figure, she has a special air around her. The hidden beauty standing with grace and confidence, with that semi- smile… This photo is dedicated to all women in the world and all the fellow women dp bloggers wishing you a wonderful Women’s Day too! Hope you’ll like it;)

Detailings on ‘Freedom’

IMG_2065

Walking across a huge bridge like this, that runs across the Danube River, you will move from Pest (pronounced as Pesht) to Buda;) There was this particular day, I even crossed it about three times in the same day…(Pest to Buda, Buda to Pest, Pest to Buda,…..then take a tram;) Seeing the lovely details on it, it speaks to me the importance and significance of a beautiful bridge like this. This photo shows the intricate detailing on ‘Freedom‘!

The parliament building

Building of the parliament in Budapest

I promised to show more photos taken from the hills of Buda. This one was captured at the castle looking to Pest from the hill and you can see the parliament building and its environment. In two days I will post the next photo of the “Taken from the Hills” series:) Have a nice day to everyone!

My Favourite Bridge

IMG_2060

Did I say it is my favourite bridge before? I even like it’s name ”Freedom Bridge”!

For some reason, this bridge appeals to me the very moment I was walking nearer and nearer to it. Perhaps it was the first bridge which I’ve crossed in Budapest by myself:) + some sense of accomplishment being totally new seeing an amazing bridge like this and being my first time to Budapest, and I found my way to this part of the city ;)

See the ‘Turul bird’ there?

the Szabadság híd (freedom bridge)

Freedom Bridge Budapest

Anikó asked me a few days ago in her comment to post about the Szabadság híd. This photo is not as exciting as her fireman pic on her blog which was taken on the same bridge. I dont know why but among people who try to commit suicide in Budapest (or just cry for help in this way) the Szabadság híd is the most popular place. And since we do not have well organized mobile crisis intervention teams usualy firemen try to talk with them.

Theme Day: Man at work

manatwork

Today is Theme Day in the DP family. The topic for 1st of March: Man at work.

I post a photo where you can see a real teamwork:) 1 is working and 11 is watching. This guy is under very strong supervision I guess. Maybe its like the team consist one worker and 1 director, 1 executive director, 1 senior manager, 1 supervisor, 3 SAP controllers, and 3 Qualitiy Insurance managers from ISO just to make sure the job will be well done.

The photo is not mine I got it from my friend Boci. Thank you Boci.:)

Under the following links you can enjoy Man at work in different cities of the DP family.
