Still about March 15. When we do not deal with rioters this holiday is very nice. You can see “Huszár”-s on their horses and in their very attractive traditional uniform in Budapest. There is still an official “huszár” regiment (or a batallion I dont know) within the Hungarian army but only for representative reasons marshing up and down with their shiny horses on national holidays. And I love them:) Other Huszár-s you can see among guys who like to replay old battles. They have a website: www.magyarhuszar.hu the photo I posted is from that site.
If you wanna see more Huszár-s click here…..if you wanna see rioters choose this link.

what outfits! reminds me of the board game Stratego. Are the mustaches part of the costume too? ;)
James..I am afraid that its not a part of the costume:)
Very ornate uniforms!
Very fancy uniforms. I’m glad that riots were not a problem. Thanks for the information on the Huszars.
what a uniform!!
This piece of writing is full of grammar mistakes. Why don’t they hire someone who can speak English well? pLUS it is not the “rioters” who will turn or now ” has turned ” this holiday a dark one but the presence of the great number of police officers everywhere and the ” bars” – cordons – that have been placed all around the most important and historical buildings such as the Kossuth tér and the National Museum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( and the phoney government of course ) …to my mind
we call them hussars as well.
