March 15th

march15

Today is National Holiday in Hungary. We celebrate the anniversary of the Hungarian revolution and freedom fight which started in 1848 15th of March in Buda. It has been one of my favorite holiday with hussars (this word comes from the Hungarian huszár), horses and with the fresh wind of the spring.

I write this post on the 14th a bit before midnight. There is tension in the city. Nobody speak about the revolution in 1848, about Sándor Petőfi the young poet who stand up to the stairs of the National Museum performing his enthusiastic poem. The big quesion today… is if the rioters will be back, if we will be again the first on the NEWS tomorrow evening?………….
