Gyros

DSC08771

I like this Greek food called Gyros and I ate it the most amongst the other food in Budapest. I also love Hungarian food, they’re really delicious despite a little heavy. But since I eat in moderation, I feel they are very very tasty food. This Gyros is one of the most spicy that I’ve eaten and that “spice” is also mainly why i like it so much! It’s actually Greek salad with chicken which was cooked and roasted in ‘kerbab’ style.

Twister?

Twister?

The weather report says today morning we can expect a huge storm with 100-120 km/h wind. I am writing this post on thursday evening and right now the storm is over Germany. As they say we will get it in the early morning and our flight is at 6:00am to Rome tomorrow. Maybe it will be an exciting flight:)

Silhouette of the natural ‘BEAUTY’;)

sushi 037

I love this ‘beauty’ from the day I arrived in Budapest. Since the first day, it was beginning to shed its leaves…becos it was Autumn. Then one afternoon, I caught the sunset with her in it. I began to notice ‘her’ from a distance. And on the beginning of January, I found ‘her’ against a clear blue sky, a winter sky. The day before, she was with ‘T’ and I found so many of you in the DP family commented that you like ‘T’ very much.

And today, I can’t resist this temptation, to show you once again how beautiful ‘SHE’ really is to me – ‘her’ silhouette:)

Theodora

Theodora

Theodora Quelle is my favourite mineral water. Non-gassy…having a slize of lemon in it. I paid 158 HUF (apr. 75 US cents) for one bottle and since there was a busy and crowded event in the café, the waiter made me pay it in advance. It seems I need to have some rest because I might have looked like a criminal thats why he didnt trust me:)

T

TThis post is about the ‘T’.

I wenT To buy some raw maTerials to make sushi. On my way back, i can’T resisT to walk a biT fasTer. Cos you know why? I saw THESE colours righT before my eyes. I quicken my fooTsTeps and the moment I step into the house, I quickly put down the groceries, took out the camera, and stepped out again, and look, it’s a wonderful sunset, ohh…how i love it:) Do you like it too?

Hungarian puppets

Hollókő

Somehow I like puppets and masks very much. Every time I travel to a new country I usually explore if they have any tradition of masks or puppets. One of my favorites are the Indonesian WAYANG puppets. You can see my posts about them at different places:

here and here and here.

Or here you can see the masks I collected from different countries from which I’ve traveled all over the world. And now I’d like to share with you these Hungarian puppets with traditional clothings. And if you are still not fed up with the many links yet;) you can see once and for all by one single link to the close ups from the collection I captured yesterday.

A Stroll in the Park

Park

This park is in Buda. I saw this post with Kőműves lépcső  printed on it, and it looked like the address since it is indicated District I. While we were strolling in this winter sunshine which looked so much like ‘early Spring’, I could feel the nice warm sunshine on my face. Some distance ahead is the ‘leaf lady’, I had been trying to go there several times but for some reason I didn’t managed to. Hope to post one photo about it for you all soon…Have a nice Sunday!

towers

Pest

In Budapest, city authorities are not allowed to build high buildings. In such a way, churches and towers of historical buildings in the downtown areas give the silhouette of the city. I have read an article a few weeks ago that Budapest doesnt really have an obvious silhouette which can be used like a logo (Just like Manhattan in New York or the Pudong area in Shanghai).

But to be honest, the building of the parliament or these gentle roofs of churches are like logos of my city to me.

Castle?

varmog 012

When I was young, I don’t play with dolls. My favourite toys were wooden building blocks. Somehow I prefer them to dolls. The place where I live dun have a single sight of castle architecture like this one in the photo. I could have been ‘building castles in the air’ back then but hey…, now I get to see many beautiful castles here in Budapest:) Rather amazing, as it is like in a dream, with the time set back to the Medieval or Renaissance! Somehow I was reminded of the story about the long hair girl, Rapunzel:)

“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair”
