In Hungarian, it is called ‘Dunakanyar’. I like this shot of the curve of the Danube in Hungary, which is close to the city of Visegrád. It is a small town in Pest County in Hungary. We drove towards the north of Budapest on the right bank of the Danube to see this Danube Bend. This place is famous for the remains of the Early Renaissance summer palace of King Matthias Corvinus of Hungary and the medieval citadel. It was a fortress for protecting the town, with a castle in its middle:)
One thing for sure, the feeling of taking a photo at this height is really, really amazing! We were also surprised that it was a day with blue sky (I will show in my next coming post on the 29.12.06, the Esztergom) and sunshine, rather surprising for the Winter season;)

This photo is soooooooooooooooooooo NICE!!! WOW – wish I could have been there with you all – it is just a grand view! I’m looking forward to your next photo. =)
The river is also famous for as the “Blue Danube”. Wikipedia says “The Blue Danube is the common English title of An der schönen blauen Donau op. 314 (On the Beautiful Blue Danube), a waltz by Johann Strauss the Younger, composed in 1867.
