The Finer Details – Central Market – Központi Vásárcsarnok

Központi Vásárcsarnok

The fruits and fresh produce were indeed very neatly arranged. To me, it looked like a ‘up-market’ ;) Like ‘Jason Marketplace’, or even of some big malls with a basement ‘super’ market. Cos you can see how interesting and beautiful the internal iron railings are, and the spherical shaped lightings that are being used entirely in the market. And as you walk upstairs to the mezzanine level with lots of folk art booths that sells handicrafts of fabric coasters, aprons, folk costumes, embroidery, needlework, doilies, tablecloth and ornaments…

Zsolt hopes you will share with him a similar proverb/saying from your country. It can be with similar meaning also…but its not a problem if its different. The main point is to collect proverbs/phrases/sayings from all over the world!

The proverb for today is:

To speak is silver, to listen is gold.

and for the proverb, I think of a proverb, not the same in meaning. but in the way of figure of speech is similar.
    说话是人生的需要,听话是人生的艺术。(shuo1 hua4 shi4 ren2 sheng1 de0 xu1yao4,ting1 hua4 shi4 ren2 sheng1 de0 yi4 shu4.In literally: shuo1hua4=to speak, shi4= is, ren2 sheng1=life de0=of, xu1yao4=demands; ting1hua4=to listen,yi4 shu4=art.)
(it means: to speak is the demands of our life, to listen is the art of our life. )
this one maybe is came from abroad. i dont know. :))

  3. Not exactly a proverb but the saying…Silence is golden.
A verse we used to say as children is Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.
Nice shot. Pretty Old World looking place. I would like to shop there.

  4. Your proverb`s thought is fine.
We say here “Speaking is silver, being silent is gold”
The house of your photo must be old one, beautiful railing.

  5. We have a somewhat similar proverb in swedish: To speak is silver, to be quite is gold. It means that sometimes it’s better not to say anything at all.
